I have been exploring new housing developments as a possibility of being the subject for my project. I have been around a few Bellway developments in the Leeds area but they did not really meet my standards. I have previously been around the new estates being built in and around the Blackpool area for the Mishka Henner brief at the begining of September. I was then informed of a development in nearby town Lytham.
The development Lytham Quays is an active site that has been active for over 4 years continuously expanding. With living spaces varying from 2 bed appartments to penthouses and from smaller 2 to 4 bed mews housing through to 5 bed detahched, Lytham Quays has over 200 properties within the development as so I felt it would likely present some interesting opportunities photographically.
These are some images from my first visit. These styles of houses are from which I can pick to pursue and form a series from. There are other types but are much smaller or are town houses (terraces) which i do not want to photograph as i do not want to create a linear row of images so to speak (as tried earlier in Manchester).
I particularly like the blue skies and the more vibrant colours in these images compared to the duller images I have been getting recently, this is more like the halfway point deadline images, with a bit of punch.
[this is more to show how many there are and to give
a general overview rather than be used as part of a series]
