These sets of images are intented to build up an idea of what is avaliable in the clubs to shoot and so where i can focus my project in order to best illustrate the communities that meet there.
Pretty much all the clubs in the area, that i have visited - and other i havent - have pool teams and compete in leagues, bringing up youngesters playing through the club up to competition level. In particular Blackpool Trades Club who's ex-member Sedge McClellend was a well known trainer in the pool and snooker worlds.
As well as this there are a lot of stages appearing in the larger clubs as many of the clubs featured turns back in the day, now however the stages remain unused much of the time as turns are becoming more and more expensive to hire with out drawing the crowds in the same way they used to. I am not sure I want to really photograph a load of empty stages as they all look quite repetative. Although this would be an intersting topographic study.. though this would highlight the decline of the social club it would not really say much about the community that remains.
